Grief House

moving with grief

June 14th 5-7pm, Studio Take Care.

Grief House: Moving with Grief is a small, guided ritual and somatic gathering for people grieving the death of someone in their life.

We will begin with a collective grief ritual, honouring those we have lost, followed by a gentle somatic session—incorporating movement, mindfulness, and rest practices to support the experience of grief in the body.

This space is for people who have experienced the death of someone they love (family, chosen family, friends, kin) and are not in the acute phase of grief (generally the first six to twelve months following a death, though timelines vary), though there is no limit on how long ago your person died.

This space is trauma-informed and grounded in care, with options to participate at your own pace and in your own way. This is not a therapy or talk-based space, and there is no expectation to share or speak about your grief.

As part of the evening, participants will receive a small personalised ritual item honouring the person they are remembering.

Grief House: Moving with Grief is held by Joh Fairley, a funeral celebrant and social worker (Nyx Funerals), with the somatic component guided by Isy Stoner (somatic psychotherapist).
